Areas of Interest:

Tectonics, Geophysics, Paleoclimate, Paleomagnetic Methods. Current research is focused on Antarctic climate evolution. This has included collaboration with Dr. Doug Wilson on computing restored bedrock topography in West and East Antarctica. Both of us participated in the revised BEDMAP2 Antarctic topographic model released in 2013. Ongoing work is aimed at estimating ice growth on this bedrock topography in the Eocene-Oligocene. I am one of the proponents for the ANDRILL Coulman High drilling project that seeks to recover Oligocene and older stratigraphic records from the central Ross Sea. That project is aimed at capturing a record of the global climate transition from Greenhouse to Icehouse that occurred during that period of time.
